it's been a long time.

guess what, guys?
we moved.

Moving stresses me out big-time, so I had to take a couple months off from blogging. Going from a huge farmhouse out in the country to a tiny little studio apartment in a downtown city area is intense, man. We had to get rid of so much stuff. It was liberating, but it mostly sucked. I've never been a city-dweller, so it feels a little weird. I'll update again soon with pictures of our new place.

I just wanted to say HELLO AGAIN, after two long months.
I hope you're all still there! I've missed you!

  1. Ahhh moving (it does suck). Daniel and I are still in our first place together- a 3rd floor apartment in a building off a big, busy road. I am not much of a city dweller myself, although I really enjoy being in cities and feel energized by them- I was brought up in the sticks. Any specific reason for the move? New job, change of scenery? I think of moving to somewhere new all the time, but haven't figured out where I'd go yet...always looking for insight. Hope you've been well and that things are calming down <3

    1. I know what you mean about feeling energized - I never wanna sit around and be lazy anymore, when there's so much to do (and eat!) nearby, haha. We moved because the drive to work is so far and we were spending 8 bucks a day on gas to get to work, so we moved closer :) our place is so small, but it's so much easier to maintain than a big old farmhouse - whew!

The city we're in is just a small little port city, with a small downtown area. We like to think that it's like training wheels for a big city like seattle or portland. I think I'd wanna move to portland someday, maybe. I like to daydream, anyway :)

  2. Hey Lizzie! So happy you're back!
I can't wait to see the pictures of your new place and see how you decorate it. I know that liberating feeling of getting rid of a bunch of stuff. In our case it was basically getting rid of everything besides the suitcases we brought with us on the plane! We recently moved into a little house, so we're collecting things again, but only the necessities and a few luxuries. Trying really hard not to become "hoarders" again, haha!
Anyway, I hope you had a good week and am looking forward to having you around again :)

  3. I can totally understand and agree. I moved at the end of last year. I never could have imagined how much work was involved. Welcoming you back to blogging and wishing you all the best.
